OEMFT: Siang Rovers, Modak FC emerge winners

PASIGHAT, Oct 24: In the ongoing Odam Ering Memorial Football Tournament (OEMFT), Siang Rovers edged past United FC 1-0 in the first match played here today, while Modak FC went past Boying 5-4 in penalty shootout in the second.
The match between Siang Rovers and United FC was an engrossing affair with both teams showing strength on equal footing. The matchwinner was scored by Henbom Padu in 40th minute.
The tussle between Modak FC and Boying was no less interesting. At the fag end of the match, Modak was leading by 1-0. However, with surprise moves Boying team came up with an equalizer and even took a 2-1 lead. But Modak fought back and tied the score at the end of the extra time. In the penalty shootout, both the teams fared worse, though Modak managed to edge out the Boying team.
In tomorrow’s match, PWD will take on Grenadiers in the first match, while Mirku will clash horns with Yamne Valley in the second.
