ITANAGAR, Sept 16: The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has deferred the APPSCCE (Mains) 2013-14 scheduled from Sept 13 to 20 till further order.
This decision was taken in an emergency meeting held here today after the allegations of leakage/duplicity of General Studies Paper-II from the aspirants appearing the prestigious exam.
Further, the Commission stated of approaching the competent authority for conduct of a magisterial enquiry into the allegations so that the complaints and apprehensions of candidates about anomalies in question papers were cleared by the probe committee and resolved as early as possible.
Earlier, the candidates enraged at the leak of General Studies Paper II had staged a dharna in front of the Commission office. The exam scheduled today was boycotted by the candidates, while the agitating candidates were demanding for the removal of the Commission members.
APPSC Chairman Ligu Tacho, members Mamang Dai and Jathi Pulu were shooed away from the Commission gates by the agitated candidates, when they approached for letting the examinations to be continued.
An agitating candidate alleged that instead of coming out with the truth on the leak of question paper, the Commission members were trying to hide their inefficiency by coercing us to be silent and attend the exams.

Later, the candidates, numbering around 400, staged a rally from the APPSC office to the Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum demanding removal of the Commission members. Their demands also included cancellation of the ongoing APPSCCE (Mains), investigation into the leak of the question paper and re-conduct of the exam.
The memorandum stated that APPSC has been negligent in its duty by rejecting and later allowing 2500 students to appear the 2009 APPSCCE preliminary exam by accepting their mistakes, allowing 98 candidates to appear the mains exam while withholding during the preliminary exam citing mistakes in filling up their forms and destruction of the Commission office during the 2012 AE exams due to the APPSC conduct. The present Commission is inefficient and incapable of viewing the series of anomalies and controversies it has encountered, the memo added.
After submitting the memorandum to the Governor’s office, the same was submitted to the Chief Minister’s office.
Meanwhile, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) delegates led by its president Kamta Lapung also met the APPSC members and discussed on the issue.
AAPSU called for SIT investigation into the leak of the question paper and re-setting the APPSCCE Mains question paper.
Voicing its condemnation on the carelessness of the concerned authority for the leakage of the question paper, AAPSU stated that the APPSC should not play with the lives of the students.
