Changlang, Aug 28: A four days in-service teachers’ training on capacity building in teaching of Mathematics at primary level was conducted by the SSA District Mission, Changlang at DIET auditorium here from August 25-28 where 39 primary school teachers from Changlang and Khimiyang blocks, two block resource persons and three master trainers from Changlang attended.
Hortum Loyi, DDSE Changlang had inaugurated the workshop. Special resource person Shakshi Monga from Delhi was invited to impart the training. The DDSE expressed his thanks to the Deputy Commissioner who has endeavoured to bring the resource person having profound knowledge in teaching of Mathematics.
The workshop was first of its kind in Changlang district as well as in State based on the NCERT book “Math Magic” where the objectives are not chronologically divided for which the teachers faced lots of problem to teach in the classroom.
Shakshi Monga has developed a module on NCERT books from class I to V in a chronological order along with lesson plan and distributed to all the participants.
The DDSE chalked out similar programs for other blocks of Changlang district i.e. Bordumsa, Diyun, Miao and Jairampur (Aug 30 to Sept 17) to bring uniformity in teaching of Mathematics at primary Level.
DC Chanchal Yadav along with ADC Isha Khosla visited the workshop and expected for an optimum feedback in Mathematics at primary stage.
At the close of workshop, the participants expressed that such type of concept oriented training was beneficial to each and every one and its outcome will contribute to the classroom teaching-learning process. Further, the participants have stated that this training has made them easier to introduce the concept of numbers also, to teach addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction and measurement at primary level.
