DEO holds 2nd round of meet with sector magistrates

Aalo, Mar 19: In second round of meeting with the sector magistrates, the West Siang District Election Officer M K Sahoo appealed all senior officers engaged as magistrates to find out some time to act and ponder over election related works assigned to them as they have key role to play for smooth conduct of elections in the district though they are in the peak of the their busy month.
He asked all to assess basic facilities, road condition, network connectivity, vulnerability mapping and other problems and send the detail reports latest by March 28 to work upon those grey areas. He also said they need to attend the training session with the polling personnel on EVM handling as they will be provided spare EVM to help out the polling team in crisis situation.
Election exercise this time, is enormous, the DEO said and urged the officers to keep in readiness meet the stiff challenges ahead. The conferment of magisterial power to them has been intimated to them and likely to come within a day or two, he said.
Participating in the discussion, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said that one guard and wireless set will be provided to each Sector Magistrate and stressed on drawing a good communication plan locating places of network connection to keep in touch with each other in case of problem to rush reinforcements. The Sector Magistrates too shared their problems of their coverage areas. (DIPRO)
