VKV, Ziro observes Ozone Day

ZIRO, Sep 30: VKV, Ziro today observed Ozone Day themed ‘Save Our Sky’ at its school premises here in a befitting manner.
Attending the function as chief guest, Umesh Mishra, DIET Lecturer, Yachuli explained in details about the importance of the ozone layer. Though men are the most precious living creatures existing on this earth but they are also equally responsible for disturbing environment with water pollution, air pollution etc which ultimately creates hole in the ozone layer.
Mentioning a list of chemical substances which are responsible for destroying the ozone layer, he called upon the students to share the knowledge learnt with village people so as to minimize the use of such substances.
Earlier, Rajiv Prasad, ST highlighted the importance Ozone Day which is observed all over the world on Sep 16 every year. To sensitize on the issue, poster making, wall magazine, seminar, slogan writing competition, video and slide show on ozone layer were taken up.
The programme ended with a slogan “My environment is my best friend. I love environment and I will protect my environment” by students and teachers of the school.
