New Delhi, Oct 3: UPA Chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s name has been recommended for Nobel Peace Prize 2011.

Equating Gandhi with Mother Teresa, a Delhi-based organisation International Awakening Centre (IAC) has sent a letter to Nobel Prize Selection Committee, recommending her name for the world’s most prestigious award.

IAC President Majaz Mungeri, in a statement issued here, said he has sent letters to the five members of Nobel Peace Prize Selection Committee set up by the Norwegian Nobel Peace Research Institute Director Kristian Berg Harpviken so that Gandhi’s name may also be considered for the award.

He told the selection committee in a letter that Gandhi is not only famous in Indiabut also in the world. (UNI)
