PASIGHAT, Jun 28: Education and technology are huge game changers…You have to create opportunities for the people to sharpen their talents and help them contribute towards the State-building, said Nari-Koyu MLA Tako Dabii while referring his ‘vision’ for the area development.
He was addressing the newly elected PRI members and officers of Nari-Seren and Koyu Anchal Blocks during their first development meeting cum workshop held at the Nari ADC’s conference hall on June 27-28.
The workshop was also attended by the ADC in-charge ADC K Darang and actively participated among others by Kenyom Dabii and Takir Kakki, ZPMs of Nari-Seren and Koyu respectively.
Dabii, while briefing about various activities carried out under his stewardship, affirmed that developmental goals are in line with those the area has set itself to achieve high-income and quality of life by ensuring the basic amenities to the people.
Dabii believed that he has given sufficient recognition in terms of job creation, sustaining creativity and innovation. He also shared his vision of building a multi-cultural and multi-lingual society with development and prosperity all around.
Leaders at their respective levels and fields should ensure stability, prosperity, security and peace. They should promote education and health awareness in the society, he added.
For democracy to work, Dabii said, you need strong values and institutions.
On the first day of the workshop, the senior Congress legislator said the newly elected PRI members and departmental officials should inculcate in them a spirit of moral responsibility towards their work. He guided the house introducing ‘Parliamentary pattern’ for open discussions and exuded hope that such capacity building training would help all to work with sincerity and devotion, upgrade knowledge and skills as they would play a major role for development of rural areas towards improving the quality of life of rural people.
At the close of the two-day session, the house passed various resolutions like issue of new job cards and assurance for 100 days yearly job for eligible persons under MGNREGA, transparency of selection of beneficiaries and distribution of farm machineries and equipments to the eligible people etc under both state and central govt sponsored schemes. The house also decided to recommend the govt to authorize the ADC, Nari to get authorization for issuing of documents such as trading license, ILP and PRC to the citizens. (DIPRO)
