Governor recommends committee to look into Lekang people’s woes

ITANAGAR, Jun 18: Distressed at ‘certain’ lacunae in the process of recruitment especially of police and other defence forces involving the people of his assembly constituency, Lekang, the Minister of Finance, Planning and PWD Chowna Mein today dashed to the Raj Bhawan for finding a way out to solve the ‘problems’ once and for all.

Responding to the Minister’s plea, Governor Gen (Retd) J J Singh has proposed for setting up of a committee to look into the issue. He said that the State govt should find a way to ensure ‘justice’ to the people. He also assured to take up the matter with the Chief Minister and the Army chief at the earliest.

The Minister, who was accompanied by a delegation of gaon burahs and public leaders from Lekang, apprised the Governor of the problems faced by the people of Lekang area of Lohit district especially during recruitment rallies.
