New Delhi, May 7: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed the whole gamut of regional and bilateral issues, including the economic, in her meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here this evening.
The areas included security, defence, civil nuclear cooperation and terrorism, official sourcess said.
Dr Singh and Clinton also exchnged views on the developments in the neighbouring countries ofChina,IranandAfghanistan.
The bilateral economic relations also formed a major part of the talks. The special focus was opportunities for US companies in the infrastructure inIndia.
Clinton, who arrived here this afternoon from kolkata where she raised the issue of FDI in retail with its staunch opponent West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee, is also understood to have discussed the economic reforms with Dr Singh here.
During the discussion onIran, the issue ofIndia’s import of oil from the West Asian country is also believed to have been raised by theUSSecretary of State.
Clinton, who is on the last leg of her three-nation Asiatour also met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. She will hold talks with External Affairs Minister SM Krishna tomorrow and meet Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj. (UNI)
